Jayson finally made it to the World Championship. He will be pitted against champion racers from around the globe including Germany & Japan. Now our racer has to see what he is made of against the best racers in the WORLD!
Arriving several days in advance, Jayson was able to attend many functions and meetings like classes on tuning his car for peak performance and other valuable meetings like the Championship Dinner.
Because of the large number of racers from across the globe, there is only a limited time to check out the hill and even less time for trial runs. Even with the limited practice runs Jayson's time is still impressive.
Friday, July 24th was the SuperKids Classic at Derby Downs.
The SuperKids race in special cars for 2 people. This way every SuperKid will be with an experienced Derby Driver.

Find out more about the SuperKids at: www.nationalsuperkids.org

Of course, the races only last so long. So what else could we do?
How about a trip to...

It's a "Major Award"

Jayson looks "OH SO HAPPY"
Race Day - July 25th

The day started out TERRIFIC!
Jayson won his 1st race against 2 other champions with a time of 29.83 seconds. This advanced him into the top 33% of all racers. Due to technical difficulties with the camera (my wife), there is no video from Jayson's 1st race.
Heat 425 (1)
1.Ian Huffman(181)
2.Jayson Locke(180)29.83
3.Mary Kennon Arscott(132)
But then the rain came

and came....

Finally it stopped and the track was wiped down. During the 2nd half of the races the racers had to contend with sudden and strong gusts of wind that would throw their light cars across the track.

Heat 456 (3)
1.Jayson Locke(180) 29.8565
3.Kaitlyn Preston(117) 29.8187
Unfortunately Jayson lost his race to Kaitlyn Preston from Bucks County by 0.0378 seconds. Races are tight at this level of competition. Coming down the hill Jayson was hit by a very strong gust of wind that sent him off course. He barely missed hitting the wall and was unable to regain the lead.

OH, THE HUMANITY - Jayson was defeated
Jayson's fastest time for the day was 29.83 seconds. The fastest time for the day for Super Stock went to Emily Biggs form Valparaiso Indiana with a time of 29.46 seconds. Jayson's fastest time was only 0.37 seconds shy of the fastest time for the day. Like I said earlier at this level, the competition is very TIGHT!
Even though Emily Biggs had the fastest time for the day, she only finished in 8th place. She had a wind gust issue in one of her races too. Kaitlyn Preston who Jayson lost to by 0.0378 seconds placed 4th overall.
Fastest Heats
Rally Stock- Victoria Bohlsen, 29.47
Local Super Stock- Emily Biggs, 29.46
Rally Masters- Megan Hydutsky, 29.23
