Civil War Chess Set from 1983.

The playing pieces represent famous Civil War leaders from the North and South and are hard carved pewter. Originally selling for $640, this is a gorgeous chess set for the enthusiast or collector.

This auction is for the complete set of 32 pieces that are solid pewter with gold-trimmed bases, hand-painted Blue for the Union forces and Gray for the Confederate.  The board itself is silver and blue and is 11.125" with the overall measures about 12.75" x 12.75" x 2.125". Including 16 of 18 descriptive booklets.

       

The set is in fine condition, nothing broken, etc.  The board is in good condition but does have some wear on the edges normal for a board of its age. Please see detail photos below for these imperfections. In all, the set is in good shape and quite attractive.
